Delivery stations set up in 15 locations nationwide!
Amazon's delivery network expands
Improving convenience by strengthening new delivery network
On September 24, 2023, Amazon (location: Meguro-ku, Tokyo) announced the opening of new delivery bases "Delivery Station" in 15 locations across Japan This new facility will be the first in Ibaraki, Niigata, Mie, Nagasaki, Oita, and Kagoshima prefectures.
Contributing to local communities and creating jobs
The new delivery station will provide over 3,000 working opportunities and ensure safe, fast and reliable deliveries. Especially for Amazon Flex drivers, it allows for flexible working styles. This will help reduce redeliveries and reduce the burden on delivery drivers.
Strengthen last mile delivery by increasing investment
This expansion of the delivery network is part of an additional investment of more than 25 billion yen in last mile delivery in Japan, which Amazon announced at the 10th Amazon Academy last month. As a result, more than 65 delivery stations will be set up across the country.
Support program for local economy
"Our mission is to provide safe and reliable delivery close to our customers," said Avanish Narain Singh, President of Amazon Logistics at Amazon Japan LLC. We will help them earn extra income and support them in starting their own business."
Role and prospects of delivery stations
Amazon's delivery stations play an important role in delivering products collected from fulfillment centers (FCs) across the country to local customers. By using our nationwide delivery network, we deliver over 7 million items the next day, and in some areas, same-day delivery is also possible.
