Suntory Whiskey “Hibiki 40 Years Old” — Limited to 100 bottles, lottery sale begins

Suntory Ltd. will be selling a limited number of 100 bottles of Suntory Whiskey "Hibiki 40 Years Old" by lottery. Applications for the lottery will be accepted starting November 5, 2024 (Tuesday), and winners will be shipped sequentially from May 27, 2025 (Tuesday).

The appeal of ultra-long-term aged sake

``Hibiki 40 Years'' uses only rare malt and grain spirits that were distilled before 1983 and aged for over 40 years. These unblended sakes have passed through many seasonal changes in barrels, reaching the peak of maturation over a long period of time. Based on the techniques cultivated by successive blenders and thorough quality control, we blend carefully selected unblended sake to bring out the finely honed beauty and depth.

A carefully blended blend of carefully selected aged whiskeys such as Yamazaki malt whiskey (distilled in 1978), Hakushu peated malt whiskey (distilled in 1981), and Chita grain whiskey (distilled in 1979). The bottle of Hibiki 40 Years Old is served in a crystal bottle that maximizes the beauty of the amber color due to its ultra-long aging. The cap is decorated with the traditional Japanese craft ``Maki-e,'' and the dodecahedron-shaped wooden box is made from 12 different types of wood that symbolize Japan's four seasons. The special packaging, which is also valuable as a work of art, brings out the beauty of the whisky.
