As electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming more popular, it has been revealed that the new Model Y sold by Tesla will receive a subsidy of up to 1.87 million yen to residents of Tokyo. This is the amount achieved as a result of Tesla meeting standards such as environmental performance, safety, and cybersecurity response

Breakdown of subsidies (for residents of Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo)

• National (CEV subsidy) : 870,000 yen
• Tokyo (ZEV subsidy) : Up to 800,000 yen
• Chiyoda Ward (Ku's own subsidy) : Up to 200,000 yen
