Hishiko Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Oita City, Oita Prefecture; President and CEO: Tsuchitani Mikio; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") will open its lifestyle hotel "HOTEL DO-YA BEPPU" in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture on Friday, April 18th, 2025, as a new challenge to commemorate the 60th anniversary of its founding.

With the concept of providing an unprecedented accommodation experience with "families" as the main character, this hotel aims to create a warm space where connections and trust between people naturally arise as a "third place to live" that is neither at home nor at work.

The architectural design is handled by world-renowned architect Kuma Kengo.

The architecture and spatial design were created by Kuma Kengo, an architect who has been highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally for his works using natural materials.

"It's an age where we need a 'third place', not a hotel or a home."

As Kuma said, "HOTEL DO-YA BEPPU" offers a new stay experience that gives you a sense of family-like connection through a space design that emphasizes the warmth and openness of wood.

In addition, original furniture supervised by Kuma Kengo is installed inside the building, and only 10 custom-made furniture, designed to be integrated into the space, is scheduled to be sold in the general public.

Warm architecture that makes use of Beppu's nature

In order to make the most of the location of a hill with a panoramic view of the sea, Kuma Kengo has widened the building's front and a large opening has been installed. We created a relaxing space in nature, offering beautiful views of Beppu Bay and the mountains.

The structure uses plenty of wood from Oita Prefecture, and uses 1.5 times the amount of wood that is typical of cypress. It is made of wood and is designed to be "full of care."

Family-like connections that take over the spirit of "do-yakai"

We have inherited the spirit of the Do-yakai, a cross-industry exchange event that our company hosts, and created a space where you can feel the warmth and intimacy of a family.

The living-like lounge, soft flow lines and rooms surrounded by natural materials give you a feeling of wanting to say "now."

"HOTEL DO-YA" brand will expand nationwide in the future

"HOTEL DO-YA BEPPU" is planning to expand nationwide as the "HOTEL DO-YA" series in the future, and is aiming to grow as a hotel brand that creates a "third place" that connects the community and people.
