"Mercad Gold" is born

Merpay Co., Ltd. will begin offering the credit card "Mercad Gold" from March 17, 2025. This is an evolved gold card when used at a local store , offering free annual fees and a wide range of additional services

Background of the "Mercad Gold" offering

Since November 2022, Merpay has provided Mercacard, a credit card whose limit is determined based on its usage history, and the number of copies issued has exceeded 4 million. Mercaca users are pleased with the flexibility and ease of management, such as using Mercaca's sales for payments.

In the credit card market, approximately one in five people own a gold card, and the need for this is growing. Mercado users have been asking for an increased usage limit and a higher return rate.

To meet these needs, Merpay will continue to provide Mercado Gold, which offers users the ability to use limits, point rewards and ancillary services, while still retaining the features of Mercado.

Main features of Mercado Gold

Essentially up to 2% off at a local shop
- In addition to regular Mercacat points redemption (purchases on Mercara: 1%-4%, payments other than Mercara: 1%), bonus points will be awarded based on the amount of your annual usage.

The usage limit has
been significantly increased from the maximum of 3 million yen, Mercado's maximum of 900,000 yen, allowing for even more expensive purchases.

A comprehensive range of services
Shopping insurance: Compensation for damage, breakdowns, and theft of purchased items
Smartphone insurance: Compensation for repair costs such as cracked smartphone screen
Travel insurance: Compensation for accidents and illnesses while traveling domestically or internationally
Airports and airport delivery services: Use of lounges at major domestic airports and Daniel K. Inouye International Airports, and delivery services when returning from overseas
