About Aoki Sake Brewery and its representative brand, "Gokeiji"

Aoki Sake Brewery is a long-established sake brewery founded in 1831, and is the only sake brewery that produces local sake in Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture. We continue to make small-scale, family-run sake brewing, while maintaining traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation.
The representative stock, "Gokeiji," was named by the third-generation head of the family as a name that means "the greatest joy" when Emperor Taisho was married.
We have contracted local farmers to grow Hitachi Nishiki, a rice that is suitable for sake brewing from Ibaraki Prefecture, as well as branded rice "Fukumaru" and "Ichibansei", and we have carefully selected sake brewing.
