Kirayaka Bank was established on May 7, 2007 with the merger of Yamagata Happy Bank and Shokusan Bank, a subsidiary of Kirayaka Holdings, and became the second largest regional bank in the Tohoku region.
On October 1, 2008, the company absorbed its parent company Kirayaka Holdings, with the aim of achieving the effectiveness of integration early and strengthening its group governance function, and reorganised it into a group centered on Kirayaka Bank. As a result, Kirayaka Bank, the surviving company, was relisted on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) and was listed on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
On October 1, 2012, the company adopted a financial holding company format that involves stock transfers and merged with Sendai Bank. Jimoto Holdings was established and Kirayaka Bank became a subsidiary of the company.
The bank is also working to stabilize its management as an injected public funds.
