About Kaga City
Kaga City is a city located in the southwest part of Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan and is bordered by Fukui Prefecture. Historically, it is part of Kaga Province and is also known as a hot spring resort and tourist destination.
history
Kaga City was founded on January 1, 1958 when Daishoji Town, Yamashiro Town, Katayamazu Town, Dobashi Town, Hashidate Town, Miki Village, Mitani Village, Nango Village, and Shioya Village in Enuma County merged. Since then, the government has undergone changes in the region as it develops.
Main events
- October 26, 1947: Emperor Showa visited Kaga city area on a postwar tour and inspected National Yamanaka Hospital and Hashidate Fishing Port.
- 1971 (Showa 46): The Kaga City Suspicion Ship Incident occurred.
- September 25, 2005: Kaga City and Yamanaka Town hold a closure ceremony for the merger.
- October 1, 2005: Mergered with Yamanaka Town, Enuma District, and a new city of Kaga was established.
- March 16, 2024 (Reiwa 6): The Hokuriku Shinkansen line between Kanazawa and Tsuruga is extended, and Kaga Onsen Station will be the stop.

e-Kaga Citizens Project
