Fukuoka Bank was founded in 1877 (Meiji 10th) as the 17th National Bank, and was established under wartime control to consolidate banks within the prefecture. Currently, it is contracted to contract designated financial institutions in Fukuoka Prefecture, Fukuoka City, and Kitakyushu City, and has the largest number of stores in the prefecture.

The store also operates stores throughout Kyushu, with sales departments in particular in Kumamoto and Kagoshima. The company also has stores in Yamaguchi Prefecture (Shimonoseki/Ube), Hiroshima City, Osaka City, Nagoya City, and Tokyo, providing a wide range of financial services.

History

• 1877 (Meiji 10) : Founded as the 17th National Bank.
• 1945 (Showa 20) : Banks within Fukuoka Prefecture were merged under wartime control, and the current Fukuoka Bank was born.
• 2006 (Heisei 18) : Entered a business and capital alliance with Kyushu Shinwa Holdings and Shinwa Bank (now Juhachi Shinwa Bank) in Nagasaki Prefecture.
• 2007 (Heisei 19) : Established Fukuoka Financial Group (FFG) through a joint stock transfer with Kumamoto Family Bank (now Kumamoto Bank) in Kumamoto Prefecture. Fukuoka Bank will become a subsidiary of FFG.
• 2019 (Heisei 31/Reiwa 1) : The 6th medium-term business plan has begun, strengthening efforts to expand DX (digital transformation) and business domains.
• 2022 (Reiwa 4) : Celebrating its 145th anniversary.
